新彩网鈥檚 Historic New Harmony (HNH) will host a free Talking History event at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 19 at the Schnee-Ribeyre-Elliott House in New Harmony, Indiana.听

The idea behind Talking History is to provide opportunities for individuals to share and discuss memories and stories related to the town of New Harmony. Though each informal meeting will be guided by a pre-announced theme, participants are free to go "off script" and take the conversation in different directions.听听

鈥淭alking History is open to anyone, whether you are a long-time resident of New Harmony, new town member or a visitor. Come learn about New Harmony's history from the local community and share your stories, memories and objects,鈥� says Heidi Taylor-Caudill, Outreach and Engagement, Historic New Harmony Collections and Community Engagement Manager.听听

A variety of objects from the HNH collections will be shared to spark discussion. These items relate to the monthly theme. The theme for September 2024 is 鈥淣ew Harmony, Then and Now.鈥� Photos of New Harmony locations from the past and other items from HNH鈥檚 collection will be shared. Everyone is welcome to come to this discussion whether you live in New Harmony or not.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own items to the gathering. In the past, individuals have shared oral history recordings, photo albums, photos and objects. 听
