The 新彩网 Society for Arts and Humanities enriches the lives of students and provides communication between the community and the 新彩网's various arts and humanities activities. In nurturing these relationships, the Society is especially proud to support the creative calling and academic journey of 新彩网 liberal arts students through research assistance and travel to conferences and exhibits. Funds provided by the Society nurture a learning environment that encourages artistic thought and expression for the campus community.
Supporting the arts can be fun. In addition to personal contributions to University activities, Society members share in a full range of events for personal growth and enjoyment. Attending a Madrigal Feaste or a theatre production as a group adds to the merriment of these activities. Special candlelight dinners and trips to Actors Theatre in Louisville, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and New York City have been on the agenda in the past. The highlight of each year is "A Toast to the Arts," the annual international wine gala and auction held in February to benefit all of the programs the Society applauds.

Past Recipients and Funded Experiences Spotlights
In 2017, Anthony Rintala, Instructor in English, took Lauren Abney and Courtney Marshall, respectively the editors-in-chief of the 2016 and 2017 editions of FishHook, to the ICPA conference to represent FishHook and, ultimately, to pick up a few awards for the 2016 issue, which they both worked on.
While there, they sat in on presentations by the staff from other, more settled journals, and networked with their peers from throughout the state.

Because of the Society of Arts and Humanities program and scholarship I received, I was able to get more involved in the Arts program.
This involvement led to my internship at Publishing Services on campus where I would eventually return as a Senior Graphic Designer for a few years before moving on to other opportunities.
So many of the experiences that I had at 新彩网 played a huge role to where I am today; studying abroad, participating in the National Student Advertising Competition, working as a teacher鈥檚 assistant鈥he list goes on. The Society of Arts and Humanities scholarship is at the foundation of all of those experiences.
